My Concept Of The Women's Participation in Kaizen Aikijitsu and Aikido

By Prof. Theodore Wilson, 8th Dan Founder & Chief Instructor Of The Kaizen Aikijitsu

Due to my long studies and teaching experience it has given me an even greater regard for women and the special spirit inside them that gives life. I have chosen to focus on this special "force" and address the issues and open the door to women interested in Kaizen Aikijitsu or Aikido.

Women are the essence of man, she is the yin of his yang spirit and the unification of harmony in this relationship. In my years of training I have seen more yang than yin participating in martial arts and especially Aikido in Istanbul. I feel that women are not motivated in many ways relating to the martial arts. From what I have observed women are discouraged, instead of being motivated.

This is understandable, everyone else wants and needs a "piece of you!" This evolves into a lack of dedication, commitment and sincerity for "SELF". You can do martial arts for exercise, to promote health physically, mentally and spiritually. To promote a productive and positive life style, a firm body and to nourish your soul.

It can be your turn, This could be the right time and the right place. You have the ability, intelligence and strength and the opportunity to study Aikijitsu and Aikido in a positive and professional manner.

This topic of discussion could go on forever so in a few words I will try to express my thoughts on the matter. Learning is an experience that provides opportunities for growth. One should understand the importance of not giving in to failure or laziness, with this mental attitude one tries to reach some level of perfection in mind, body and spirit. One should remember that perfection is usually measured in terms of technical proficiency but technical skill is limited, the body no matter how well trained will age and physical ability will deteriorate accordingly.

But the mind, or to be more precise the spirit has unlimited potential for improvement and the key to developing this potential is to understand that the practice of Kaizen Aikijitsu is endless. The reward comes not from the attainment of physical perfection, but from its unending pursuit in the learning of oneself.

We all need to be healed in the highest sense by making ourselves perfect in mind, body, and spirit. The first step is to realize that this is even possible. To create health of mind and body, you need a new method of knowledge, based on a deeper concept of life. These are some of my thoughts on this matter.
